Joinerville, Texas – In a stunning turn of events in the Eastern District of Texas, Tracy A. Bojorquez, a 43-year-old woman once tasked with the responsibility of running the Joinerville Post Office, has pleaded guilty to serious federal charges. According to U.S. Attorney John M. Bales, Bojorquez admitted to misappropriating United States postal funds.
The embezzlement, which spanned from July 2012 to May 2013, involved the siphoning off payments meant for postal money orders, post office box rental fees, and sales of U.S. postage stamps. The total loss to the U.S. Postal Service was a staggering $5,132.23.
Bojorquez, who was indicted by a federal grand jury on November 20, 2013, now faces up to ten years in federal prison for her crimes. A sentencing date has yet to be scheduled.
This case is being meticulously investigated by the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General and is being prosecuted with vigor by Assistant U.S. Attorney Allen Hurst.
