Jose Hernandez-Tirado, Crack Cocaine Trafficking, Pennsylvania 2013

The streets of Monroe County, Pennsylvania just got a little safer as a notorious crack cocaine trafficker is behind bars. 35-year-old Jose Hernandez-Tirado has been sentenced to six years in prison for distributing the highly addictive and destructive drug in the area back in 2013.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Hernandez-Tirado pleaded guilty to distribution and possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine. This guilty plea was a result of a lengthy investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, Homeland Security Investigations, the Pennsylvania State Police, and Berks County Detectives.

The investigation, which began in 2013, led to Hernandez-Tirado being charged in an Information filed in August 2014. Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa prosecuted the case, working tirelessly to bring the defendant to justice.

Hernandez-Tirado’s crimes had a devastating impact on the community, and his sentence is a reflection of the severity of his actions. The six-year prison term is a significant blow to the defendant, and it serves as a warning to others who would seek to engage in similar activities.
