Lansford, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Victoria Ann Argott, a 34-year-old resident of Lansford, Carbon County, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for her involvement in a cocaine trafficking conspiracy.
Argott, who pleaded guilty to the charges, admitted to participating in the conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and powder cocaine in the Carbon County area between January 2011 and December 2012.
According to the United States Attorney Peter J. Smith, Argott’s role in the conspiracy was significant, and her sentencing is a testament to the efforts of law enforcement agencies in the area.
In addition to the prison term, Senior Judge Edwin M. Kosik also ordered that Argott be supervised by a probation officer for four years following her release from prison.
This is not the first time a resident of Carbon County has been sentenced for their involvement in the cocaine trafficking conspiracy. Bonnie Vosburgh, a 22-year-old resident of Nesquehoning, was sentenced to 60 months in prison after entering a guilty plea and admitting to participating in the same conspiracy.
The investigation into the cocaine trafficking conspiracy was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Nesquehoning and Lansford Police Departments in Carbon County.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara, who commended the efforts of law enforcement agencies in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
