Four previously deported aliens have been charged with illegally re-entering the United States, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
The defendants, all from Mexico, were deported on multiple occasions but allegedly re-entered the country and were found in Pennsylvania, where they evaded immigration inspection.
Jose Perez-Verdugo, 37, was previously deported in 2008, 2013, and 2014, and faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine for his alleged crime.
José Arguelles-Varillas, 53, was deported in 2012 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine due to his previous conviction for child abuse and attempted forcible sexual abuse in Utah.
Maximino Mota-Ortiz, 43, was deported in 1997 and also faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine due to his previous conviction for trafficking in a controlled substance in Massachusetts.
Francisco Michaca-Dominguez, 41, was deported in 2006, 2013, and 2013, and faces a maximum penalty of two years in prison, a term of supervised release, and a fine for his alleged crime.
The cases were investigated by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, and are being prosecuted by the US Attorney’s Office.
The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
