BUFFALO, N.Y. – A Mexican man has been arrested and charged with re-entering the United States despite being previously ordered removed.
Jose Roberto Perez-Solis, 31, was taken into custody by Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop in Ripley, NY, on August 5, 2025.
Perez-Solis had been previously ordered removed from the country and deported to Mexico in 2012. However, he did not have permission to return to the United States.
The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative to repel the invasion of illegal immigration and protect communities from violent crime.
Perez-Solis made an initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge H. Kenneth Schroeder, Jr. and was detained.
The maximum penalty for re-entry of a removed alien is two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The investigation was led by U.S. Border Patrol, under the direction of Patrol Agent-in-Charge Travis McNaughton.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Fauzia K. Mattingly is handling the case.
