Joshua Lane Rogers, Child Pornography, Florida 2018

Two men from Stuart, Florida, have pleaded guilty to producing and distributing child pornography, a heinous crime that has shaken the community.

Richard William Lockley, 34, and Joshua Lane Rogers, 34, both of Stuart, admitted to creating and sharing explicit images of a 16-year-old victim. The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO), and Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), revealed that Rogers met the victim online and had them stay at his residence.

A forensic analysis of Rogers’ cellular smartphone uncovered a stash of sexually explicit videos and images, which he distributed to others via text messages, social media, and a local website. Lockley was present during the production of a video with the minor victim, which was also distributed.

The victims, including the 16-year-old, were exploited by these individuals, causing lasting harm to their lives. The investigation highlights the importance of online safety and the need for awareness about the dangers of child exploitation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Carmen Lineberger, and the defendants face severe penalties, including a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, a maximum 30-year prison term, a lifetime of supervised release, and registration as sex offenders.

Lockley is set to be sentenced on April 20, 2018, at 1 p.m. in Fort Pierce, while Rogers will face sentencing on June 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Miami. The community is relieved that these perpetrators have been brought to justice, and the authorities commend the investigative efforts of the FBI, SLCSO, and MCSO.

The case serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting children from exploitation and abuse. The community must remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to ensure the safety of our children.
