Rochester Man Pleads Guilty to Possession of Child Pornography

A 27-year-old man from Rochester, New York, has pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography. Joshua Woodbury, 27, of Rochester, NY, pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography before U.S. District Judge Charles J. Siragusa.

The charge carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Woodbury’s guilty plea is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Adam S. Cohen.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Craig R. Gestring, the investigation began in February 2016, when an FBI Agent downloaded two video files containing child pornography from an IP address linked to a residence on Patrician Drive in Rochester. The videos included naked, prepubescent girls.

Further investigation found that Woodbury had also accessed his neighbor’s wireless internet to download child pornography at his current residence on Spanish Trail. An analysis of Woodbury’s cellular telephone revealed multiple videos containing prepubescent children involved in sexual activity.

Woodbury admitted to using the internet to download child pornography at both residences. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for June 27, 2017, at 9:15 a.m. before Judge Siragusa.
