Jury Hands Down 10-Year Sentence to Jackson Man for Gun Possession

A Jackson man has found himself on the wrong side of the law after being sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. Travaris Devon Bishop, 36, was arrested by the Jackson Police Department on January 9, 2020, with a firearm in his possession.

According to court documents, Bishop was under investigation for criminal activity in a local neighborhood when he was apprehended by law enforcement.
