Kadar Udai Pearson Charged in Fargo ND

Fargo, ND – A Fargo man is behind bars after being indicted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Kadar Udai Pearson, 28, was arrested on June 5, 2024, by the Fargo Police Department near the Arbors apartment complex. He was found to be in possession of a loaded pistol.

At the time of his arrest, Pearson was an inmate on escape status with the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. He was serving a sentence imposed in October 2023, for his felony convictions of Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl and Theft of a Firearm.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced that Pearson appeared in federal court on August 1, 2024, for an initial appearance and arraignment hearing. The United States District Court for the District of North Dakota unsealed an indictment revealing that a federal grand jury indicted Pearson on the charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

The indictment in this case is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt at trial.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and gun violence in communities. PSN is based on the core principles of fostering trust and legitimacy in communities, supporting community-based organizations, setting focused enforcement priorities, and measuring results.

The case is being investigated by the Fargo Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jake Rodenbiker and Trial Attorney Alyssa Levey-Weinstein in the Violent Crime and Racketeering Section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
