Karl Beck, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Texas 2021

Twenty-one individuals, including Karl Beck, were arrested yesterday on federal drug trafficking charges in Austin, Texas.

Federal authorities arrested the defendants after a two-year investigation into a methamphetamine trafficking organization.

Karl Beck, 42, of Austin, is charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute kilogram quantities of methamphetamine in Texas and elsewhere from August 2019 to March 2021.

Beck faces between 10 years to life in federal prison upon conviction of the drug charge based on the amount of methamphetamine involved.

The indictment also charges Beck with one count of money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.

According to the indictment, the defendants conspired to distribute methamphetamine in the central Texas area since April 2019.

The investigation, known as Operation Glass Joe, was conducted by the DEA, FBI, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations in Austin, Cedar Park Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Hays County Sheriff’s Office, and the Austin Police Department.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel D. Guess is prosecuting the case.

Other defendants charged in the indictment include Victor Penaloza-Calderon, Craig Neely, Karl Beck, Bobby Hale, Michael Peterson, Elias Loza Jr, Reginald Thomas, Stephanie Shires, Stephen Penberg, Clinton Johnson, Shawn Malmquist, Amy Rogers, Cody Richards, Anthony Lones II, Victoria Manning, Laurel Yurchick, Richard Zamora, Adrianne Spence, Joshua Cherry, Joshua Bailey, Leonard Cantrell, Jeffrey Sparks, Daylin Lopez-Iglesias, Hallie Shaw, Rita Islas, Madison Mitchell, and Hilda Gutierrez-Benitez.
