A notorious crack dealer in Johnstown has been brought to justice, sentenced to nearly four years in prison for his role in the lucrative and destructive trade.
Kawan Dock, 43, of Johnstown, Pa., was sentenced to 46 months in prison and six years’ supervised release on his conviction of violating federal narcotics laws, announced United States Attorney Scott W. Brady today.
The sentencing took place in federal court in Johnstown, with United States District Judge Kim R. Gibson imposing the sentence on Dock.
Dock was convicted of conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and distribute a quantity of cocaine base, in the form commonly known as crack, between May 7, 2019 to May 16, 2019, according to information presented to the court.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon prosecuted this case on behalf of the government, working tirelessly to ensure that justice was served in this matter.
United States Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the Laurel Highlands Resident Agency of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cambria County Drug Task Force for the investigation that led to the successful prosecution of Dock.
“This sentence reflects the severity of the crime and the harm it causes to our communities,” said Brady. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to disrupt and dismantle the networks that perpetuate this destructive trade.”
