KC Meth Kingpin Fejzic Gets 24 Years
KANSAS CITY, MO – A major player in a massive methamphetamine distribution network has been taken off the streets. Fahrudin F. Fejzic, also known as “Frank,” 51, of Kansas City, Missouri, received a 24-year and two-month federal prison sentence on Thursday, February 9th, after being convicted for his role in a conspiracy that flooded the city with nearly 1,000 kilograms of methamphetamine – a street value estimated at nearly $10 million. The court also slapped Fejzic with a $325,000 money judgment, representing the ill-gotten gains from his drug trafficking operation.
The case, a collaborative effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, revealed a sophisticated operation. On February 19, 2019, investigators surveilled the residence of co-defendant Mirza Alihodzic, 37, of Kansas City, observing Fejzic and others loading items into a black BMW. A subsequent traffic stop of Fejzic revealed a disturbing arsenal: a loaded Smith & Wesson 9mm tucked into his waistband, alongside more than two kilograms of methamphetamine and a Romarm/CUGIR Mini Draco AK-47-type firearm equipped with high-capacity magazines and 69 rounds of ammunition. A search of Alihodzic’s residence turned up another 5.5 grams of meth, $1,620 in cash, and a cache of 18 firearms, including a machine gun and stolen handgun.
Lloyd L. Hagan, also known as “Trey,” 45, of Kansas City, wasn’t spared either. He was sentenced today to 18 years and nine months in federal prison and ordered to pay $19,442 in restitution. Hagan acted as a crucial middleman, purchasing methamphetamine from Alihodzic and distributing it to others. Investigators documented Hagan accepting half-pound quantities of methamphetamine in exchange for work on multiple properties, effectively trading labor for drugs. He was responsible for distributing nearly two kilograms of the deadly substance.
The investigation didn’t stop with Fejzic and Hagan. Alihodzic, the central figure in the drug network, was previously sentenced on December 1, 2022, to 35 years in federal prison and ordered to forfeit $1,158,058. Prosecutors demonstrated Alihodzic’s responsibility in trafficking a staggering 113.79 kilograms (over 250 pounds) of methamphetamine. This case highlights the sheer scale of the operation and the devastating impact it had on the community.
To date, eighteen defendants have been convicted in two separate indictments stemming from this investigation, with fifteen already sentenced. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bradley K. Kavanaugh, Sean T. Foley, and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Bradshaw spearheaded the prosecution. The Kansas City Police Department, FBI, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force were instrumental in bringing these criminals to justice. This case is a part of the Department of Justice’s Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, aimed at reducing violent crime.
The streets of Kansas City are a little safer today, but the fight against drug trafficking and gun violence is far from over. Federal authorities vow to continue targeting those who prey on the community and profit from the misery of addiction. The lengthy sentences handed down to Fejzic and Hagan send a clear message: those involved in large-scale drug trafficking will face severe consequences.
