Kedrin Turner, 39, Sentenced to 36 Months in Gun Case
PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 36 months in prison for a federal firearms violation, announced United States Attorney David J. Hickton.
On August 14, 2014, Senior United States District Judge Terrence F. McVerry imposed the sentence on Kedrin Lee Turner a/k/a Hoody, 39, of Pittsburgh, Pa.
According to information presented to the court, Turner dropped his shoes and a loaded 9mm Glock pistol as he fled from police on June 24, 2010.
Federal law prohibits convicted felons such as Turner from possessing a firearm or ammunition, making this a serious charge.
Assistant United States Attorneys Ross E. Lenhardt and Barbara K. Doolittle prosecuted this case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Attorney Hickton commended the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Turner.
The sentence of 36 months imprisonment, followed by three years supervised release, reflects the severity of Turner’s actions.
