Keene Man Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Possession

Keene, N.H. – A grim charge has been laid against 33-year-old Andrew Beezub from the town of Keene as he pleaded guilty to one count of possessing child pornography in the United States District Court.

Acting U.S. Attorney John J. Farley made the announcement, noting that a sentencing hearing is scheduled for August 14, 2017. In anticipation of this serious offense, Beezub has been detained by the U.S. Marshal pending his upcoming sentence.

The allegations stem from an investigation launched in February 2016 when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children detected what they suspected to be child pornography on a Dropbox account. The Keene Police Department promptly traced this account back to Beezub, leading to a search warrant executed in April 2016 that resulted in the seizure of his computer and telephone.

Forensic analysis of the seized phone revealed its connection to the Dropbox account containing explicit child pornography content. This case marks another victory for Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative introduced by the Department of Justice in February 2006. The goal of this program is to combat online exploitation and abuse of children through the coordination of federal, state, and local resources.

The investigation into Beezub’s actions was a collaborative effort involving both the Keene Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security’s Homeland Security Investigations unit. Assistant United States Attorneys Helen White Fitzgibbon and Don Feith are handling the prosecution of this case.
