CONCORD, N.H. — In a chilling revelation from the federal courts, Dale Edson, 30, of Swanzey, New Hampshire, has pleaded guilty to possessing images of child pornography. The U.S. Attorney Emily Gray Rice announced the disturbing charge against the defendant.
The case took a grim turn when law enforcement received information in July 2015 that potential child pornographic images were uploaded from a phone number linked to Edson. A swift investigation led to a search warrant for Edson’s residence, which was executed on September 9, 2015. Authorities seized three computers and other devices at the scene.
A preliminary forensic review revealed that images of child pornography were found on each of the two laptops examined, while an examination of a tablet used by Edson also uncovered similar material. The case has been marked as a significant victory for the Hinsdale Police Department, the Department of Homeland Security, and several other law enforcement agencies involved.
Edson’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 19, 2017, ensuring that justice will be served for this heinous crime.
The investigation was led by the Hinsdale Police Department with support from a cadre of local police departments and the Interstate Crimes Against Children Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Donald Feith is prosecuting the case.
