A Pinon man was sentenced to 202 months in prison for his role in a second degree murder.
Kelly Joyce, 38, of Pinon, Arizona, was sentenced by United States District Judge Dominic W. Lanza on November 14, 2022, to 202 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release.
The crime occurred on March 2, 2020, when Joyce shot and killed the victim in Pinon, an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety conducted the investigation in this case.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Besancon handled the prosecution for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
