PHOENIX, Ariz. – In a shocking turn of events, 39-year-old Jesse Don Moquino, an enrolled member of the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for his involvement in a brutal bludgeoning death.

According to officials, on September 11, 2019, Moquino stabbed the victim with a sharp object and then hit her on the back of the head with a blunt object multiple times, killing her. This heinous act of violence has left the community in shock and mourning.

Moquino, who pleaded guilty to Voluntary Manslaughter on February 26, 2020, will serve his 15-year sentence, followed by three years of supervised release. The Salt River Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation in this case.
