A shocking kidnapping case has come to a close in St. Louis County, Missouri, with two men admitting to the crime. Kendal “KD” White, 20, of St. Charles, and Cam\’Ron Henderson, 20, of St. Louis, have both pleaded guilty to one count of kidnapping.
The kidnapping occurred on August 10, 2023, when White and Henderson, along with others, began searching for the father of a 2-year-old toddler. They believed the father had taken firearms and other items from White. The group eventually found their way to the victim\’s mother\’s apartment in St. Louis County.
When the mother did not answer the door, White and Henderson kicked it in. Both men were armed, and after learning that their target was not in the apartment, White demanded that the mother turn over her daughter. She refused, and White struck her in the head with his gun multiple times before grabbing the toddler from her arms.
White and Henderson fled with the girl, and the victim\’s mother called the police. An Amber Alert was issued, including a description of the Hyundai Elantra they were driving. When White and Henderson learned of the alert, White paid three women to return the toddler to her uncle\’s home.
The kidnapping charge carries a penalty of at least 20 years in prison. Henderson is scheduled to be sentenced on December 2, and White on January 27. The St. Louis County Police Department and the FBI investigated the case, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Szczucinski prosecuting.
The guilty pleas bring an end to a disturbing case that highlights the dangers of violent crime in the community. The fact that the kidnapping was carried out in an attempt to recover missing guns makes it all the more alarming. As the case moves towards sentencing, the community will be watching to see that justice is served.
In a statement, the U.S. Attorney\’s Office emphasized the seriousness of the crime and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable. The case serves as a reminder of the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement agencies to prevent and prosecute violent crimes.
