DES MOINES, IA — Kendall Andrew Streb, a 35-year-old resident of Hills, Iowa, has been sentenced to 268 months in prison for his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring.
According to court records, Streb was convicted of three counts of child sex trafficking, two counts of distribution of methamphetamine to children, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, unlawful user in possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense. The crimes were committed in Hills, Iowa.
Streb’s sentencing took place on an unknown date.
As part of the investigation, authorities also uncovered evidence of Streb’s distribution of methamphetamine to children, which further highlights the severity of his crimes.
The case against Streb was one of several high-profile human trafficking cases in the state of Iowa, highlighting the need for continued efforts to combat this insidious crime.
According to the Human Trafficking Institute’s Annual Report for 2019, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Iowa (USAO-SDIA) was sixth in the nation for number of new human trafficking defendants, equal with the number of defendants in United States Attorney’s Offices for the District of Columbia and the Eastern District of Virginia.
Streb is just one of several individuals who have been brought to justice for their role in human trafficking in Iowa. Other notable cases include those of Isaiah Patterson, Tommy Tate Collins, Albert Kelly Price, Arrion Marcus West, Jr., Marlin Santana Thomas, Hershel James Ratliff, Earl Jonell Jackson, and Darrius Decnan Redd.
The U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland has released the Justice Department’s new National Strategy to Combat Human Trafficking, which aims to enhance the department’s capacity to prevent human trafficking, prosecute human trafficking cases, and support and protect human trafficking victims and survivors.
