Kensington Bank Robber Charged
A 49-year-old man from Philadelphia has been charged with robbing a bank in Kensington and attempting to rob another in South Philadelphia.
According to court documents, William Minson robbed the Hyperion Bank, located at 199 West Girard Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 19, 2016. He then attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 2300 Snyder Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 22, 2016.
Minson, who was charged by indictment, faces a maximum sentence of 40 years’ imprisonment, a $500,000 fine, three years supervised release, and a $200 special assessment if convicted.
The case has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Philadelphia Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Thomas M. Zaleski is handling the case.
Minson is presumed innocent until proven guilty, according to the indictment.
