A 39-year-old Kenyan national is facing time behind bars after getting caught with a loaded gun and trying to entice a minor for sex in Birmingham, Alabama.
Stanley Amalemba Ambeyi, a citizen of Kenya, was stopped by a Birmingham Police Department officer on April 11, 2025, for a traffic infraction.
During the stop, the officer spotted a box of ammo in the vehicle and asked Ambeyi if he had any firearms. Ambeyi initially lied, claiming he didn’t have any guns in the vehicle.
But a search of the vehicle turned up a .22LR revolver, and Ambeyi was cuffed and arrested.
Ambeyi’s troubles don’t stop there. Prosecutors also accused him of trying to entice a 15-year-old girl for sex in exchange for money in November 2024.
Ambeyi pleaded guilty to the firearm charge in November 2025 and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
