Washington DC – Robbery Results in Four Year Prison Term
A brazen 7-Eleven store robbery in March 2025 has landed a Washington DC man behind bars for four years. Kevin Bing, 31, was sentenced in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia for his role in the burglary.
According to court records, Bing and three unidentified accomplices targeted a closed 7-Eleven store in the 5200 block of 3rd Street Northeast on March 19, 2025. The group used a prybar to force open the front door and a hydraulic prying tool to break into an ATM machine, stealing U.S. currency and a cell phone from a store employee.
Bing was arrested the following day, on March 20, 2025, and has been in custody ever since. His accomplices remain at large.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro commended the efforts of the Metropolitan Police Department, which investigated the case. ‘The work of these dedicated officers helped bring a thief to justice,’ Pirro said.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Roberts prosecuted the case, securing a guilty plea from Bing on August 12, 2025. Judge Jennifer Di Toro sentenced Bing to four years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
The 7-Eleven store robbery is the latest in a string of brazen crimes to hit the nation’s capital. As the city struggles to combat crime, residents are left wondering what needs to be done to keep them safe.
In a statement, Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department vowed to continue working tirelessly to bring perpetrators to justice. ‘We will not rest until every neighborhood in this city is safe and secure,’ Smith said.
