Kevin Mercado, Cocaine Trafficking, Massachusetts 2026

A Bridgewater man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for his involvement in cocaine trafficking.

Kevin Mercado, 38, was sentenced by Chief U.S. District Court Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV to 78 months in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release.

Mercado pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine in October 2024.

An investigation into a drug trafficking organization in the southeastern part of Massachusetts, including Brockton, began in 2019.

From March 2020 through November 2023, 11 controlled purchases of drugs were made from Mercado as part of the investigation.

A search of Mercado’s apartment in Bridgewater in November 2023 revealed nearly a kilogram and a half of cocaine and cocaine base, three digital scales, a money counter and $16,086 in drug proceeds.

In 2010, Mercado was sentenced to 48 months in federal prison after being convicted of two counts of distribution of cocaine base.
