Kenny Fiddler, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, South Dakota 2015

EAGLE BUTTE, SOUTH DAKOTA – A chilling threat with a folding knife has landed a local man in jail. Kenny Fiddler, 34, was sentenced to 27 months in custody for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.

The crime unfolded on August 23, 2014, when Fiddler took a folding knife and held it to the back of the victim’s neck, threatening to cause bodily harm. The victim, an adult male, was left shaken by the incident.

Eagle Butte resident Kenny Fiddler was indicted by a federal grand jury on December 9, 2014, for his role in the assault. He later pleaded guilty to the charge on March 3, 2015.

U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange handed down the sentence on May 4, 2015. Fiddler will also serve 2 years of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
