Palm Beach County Gastroenterologist Charged with Filing False Tax Returns

A Palm Beach County gastroenterologist has been charged with filing false tax returns, according to a recent indictment unsealed by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida.

Krishna Tripuraneni, 55, of Palm Beach County, was charged with three counts of filing false tax returns for 2006 through 2008, in violation of Title 26, United States Code, Section 7206(1).

If convicted, Tripuraneni faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison for each count of filing false tax returns.

Tripuraneni was the registered agent and manager of Palm Beach Surgery Center and other companies operating in Palm Beach County.

Mr. Ferrer commended the investigative efforts of IRS-CI and the FBI. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher J. Clark.

An Indictment is only an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Tripuraneni is scheduled to be arraigned on November 22, 2013.
