Casper, Wyoming – On April 3, 2026, U.S. District Court Judge Scott W. Skavdahl sentenced Kyle Davion Kohon, 21, of Casper, Wyoming, to 50 months’ imprisonment with three years of supervised release for possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.
According to court documents, on August 20, 2025, police responded to a report that Mr. Kohon had pointed a gun at another person during a dispute at a home in Casper. He fled the scene but was later located by officers after discarding a backpack containing a stolen 9mm pistol; he initially denied possession but later admitted it was his. Kohon also had a prior 2024 domestic battery case involving an altercation with his then-girlfriend.
The Casper Police Department, DCI and ATF investigated the crime. Mr. Kohon was indicted on November 19, 2025, and pleaded guilty on January 8, 2026, to the charge of possession of a firearm by a person convicted of domestic violence.
