Kyle Man Sentenced for Assault by Striking, Beating, or Wounding

A Kyle man was sentenced to 12 months in custody for assault by striking, beating, or wounding. Vinnie Makes Good, age 26, was handed down the sentence by U.S. Magistrate Judge Veronica L. Duffy on October 23, 2014.

The conviction stemmed from an incident that occurred in Kyle on November 17, 2013. Makes Good, along with two other men, entered a man’s yard and assaulted him and his son with their fists, causing injuries.

Makes Good was also ordered to pay a $25 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and $352.50 in restitution as part of his sentence. He will serve 1 year of supervised release after his time in custody.

The case was investigated by the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Collins prosecuted the case.

Makes Good was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service after being sentenced.
