Kylie Leia Perez, a/k/a “Natalie Monroe”, has been charged with tax fraud for allegedly hiding over $5.4 million in earnings from her OnlyFans account.
According to the indictment, Perez, an OnlyFans content creator, earned the substantial amount from 2019 through 2023, but engaged in a scheme to evade the assessment of taxes by filing a false tax return for calendar year 2019 and failing to pay at least $1.6 million in taxes owed for calendar years 2020 through 2023.
The charges against Perez include one count of filing a false tax return and four counts of failing to pay income tax. If convicted on all counts, Perez faces a maximum penalty of seven years in federal prison.
Perez operated under the stage name “Natalie Monroe” on OnlyFans, a subscription-based social media platform that allows creators to share various types of content with subscribers, such as photos, videos, and live streams. Creators, like Perez, can monetize their content through subscription fees, pay-per-view content, and tips from subscribers.
The case against Perez was investigated by the Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation and will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Carlton C. Gammons. United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the return of the indictment.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty. As the case moves forward, it will be crucial to examine the evidence and arguments presented by both the prosecution and the defense.
The investigation and prosecution of tax fraud cases like Perez’s serve as a reminder of the importance of compliance with tax laws and regulations. The consequences of tax evasion can be severe, and individuals who engage in such activities risk facing significant fines and imprisonment.
