Cahokia Man Sentenced to 44 1/2 Years in Prison for Armed Robberies
LaMarcus D. Jackson, 29, of Cahokia, Illinois, was sentenced to 44 1/2 years in prison for his role in two armed robberies in Cahokia, Illinois.
The first robbery occurred on December 11, 2014, at the Alps Grocery Store, located at 800 Upper Cahokia Road, in Cahokia, Illinois. Jackson, along with Undray Webb and Byron Holton, entered the store, masked and armed with three firearms. They pointed the firearms at the store employees and demanded money, taking approximately $1,700 from the registers and a safe.
One month later, on January 11, 2015, Jackson, Holton, Webb, and a fourth conspirator, Devante Hodges, entered the Shop n’ Save, located at 1028 Camp Jackson Road in Cahokia, Illinois, masked, gloved, and armed with four firearms. They pointed the firearms at employees and customers within the store, stealing approximately $7,000.
Jackson was arrested and interviewed by law enforcement, during which he admitted to being one of the gunmen in both robberies. He identified Byron Holton and Undray Webb as the other two gunmen in the first robbery and Byron Holton, Undray Webb, and Devante Hodges as the other three gunmen in the second robbery.
As part of his sentence, Jackson was ordered to pay $8,700 in restitution to the victims and a $600 special assessment. He will be on supervised release for 5 years once he is released from prison.
The case was investigated by the Cahokia Police Department, the Sauget Police Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Ali Summers is prosecuting the case.
Byron Holton’s case is still pending, and he is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
