Wilkes-Barre Men Charged with Heroin, Cocaine, and Marijuana Trafficking
Two men from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, have been charged with various drug trafficking and firearms offenses, according to a recent indictment. Larry Hayes, 28, is alleged to have possessed heroin, cocaine, and marijuana with intent to distribute, while Disean Kendricks, 26, faces charges of possessing heroin, firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and being a convicted felon in possession of firearms.
The investigation, conducted by the Wilkes-Barre Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), led to a search warrant at a residence on Sullivan Street in Wilkes-Barre. Heroin, cocaine, and marijuana were seized from a bedroom where Hayes was sleeping, while an additional amount of heroin and two firearms were found in another bedroom where Kendricks was sleeping.
The charges against Hayes and Kendricks are the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking activities in the region. The indictment serves as a reminder of the dangers of drug trafficking and the importance of law enforcement’s efforts to combat it.
The maximum penalty under federal law for the offenses charged against Hayes and Kendricks is 20 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine. However, the actual sentence imposed will depend on various factors, including the nature and seriousness of the offense, the defendant’s history and characteristics, and the need to punish, protect the public, and provide for the defendant’s educational, vocational, and medical needs.
Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara is assigned to prosecute the case. The indictment and criminal informations are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
The case is a reminder that law enforcement agencies will continue to work tirelessly to combat drug trafficking and related crimes in the region. The public is urged to report any information regarding suspicious activity to the authorities.
Indictments and criminal informations are only allegations. All persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
