A Las Cruces man has landed himself a 15-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to federal drug and firearm offenses. Enrique Alan Ramirez, 32, was caught with a stash of methamphetamine and fentanyl at his residence.
A search of Ramirez’s home turned up 1.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 450 grams of fentanyl, and multiple firearms. The discovery was made by agents from the Department of Justice, USAO, in the state of Alabama.
A federal grand jury in the Northern District of Alabama indicted Ramirez on one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of being a felon in possession of firearms.
According to court documents, Ramirez faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life imprisonment for the drug trafficking charge. He also faces up to 10 years in prison for the firearm charge.
