Las Vegas – Richard Gleason, a notorious drug dealer in the city, has been sentenced to 130 months in federal prison for his role in distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl. The sentence, handed down by United States District Judge Cristina D. Silva, is more than a decade behind bars.
The DEA-led investigation revealed that between January 10, 2023, and February 28, 2023, Gleason conspired with associates to sell over six pounds of methamphetamine and approximately 100 fentanyl pills in Las Vegas. The government had recommended a sentence of 151 months for the 46-year-old defendant.
As part of the extensive conspiracy, Gleason was found to have sold 10.5 grams of fentanyl and 2,724.6 grams of actual methamphetamine. In June 2025, he pleaded guilty to one-count of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance (Methamphetamine and Fentanyl).
Acting United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Deputy Special Agent in Charge Anthony Chrysanthis for DEA’s Los Angeles Division announced the sentencing. The DEA conducted the investigation, while the United States Attorney’s Office prosecuted the case.
Gleason’s conviction sends a strong message against drug trafficking in Nevada. His sentence will be followed by five years of supervised release upon his release from prison.
