Pittsburgh Man Charged with Stealing FBI Property

In a shocking turn of events, Lashawn Norwood, 57, of Pittsburgh, PA, has been accused of stealing valuable property from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

According to the indictment, Norwood willfully and knowingly did embezzle, steal, purloin and convert to his own use property, in a value exceeding $1,000.00 belonging to the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not more than 10 years in prison, a fine of not more than $250,000 or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant United States Attorney Michael R. Ball is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation leading to the indictment in this case.

An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The defendant’s address is listed as the Hill District neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA. The crime is alleged to have taken place on or about September 28, 2021.

Lashawn Norwood, 57, of Pittsburgh, PA, is accused of stealing property valued at over $1,000.00 from the FBI.

The case is currently pending in federal court. A trial date has not been set.
