Lawrence Henderson, Possession with Intent to Distribute, Nebraska 2018

A massive narcotics bust has left a California man facing the music in a Nebraska courtroom. Lawrence Henderson, 52, of Stockton, California, was sentenced to 60 months’ imprisonment for possessing with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine, 5 kilograms or more of cocaine, and marijuana.

Nebraska State Patrol troopers stopped a tractor semi-trailer for a vehicle violation of no front plate in Hall County, Nebraska, on August 28, 2018. The stop led to a search of the vehicle, which yielded eight total bags containing a staggering amount of narcotics. The bags included vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana weighing approximately 94.6 pounds, as well as 36 pounds of methamphetamine and 51 pounds of cocaine.

The discovery was made after the trooper had indicators of criminal activity and asked for consent to search the vehicle. Consent was granted for the trailer but not for the truck. A K9 was requested, and upon arrival, it indicated the presence of narcotics coming from the vehicle.

Lawrence Henderson, the driver of the tractor semi-trailer, was subsequently arrested and charged with the crimes. His sentence, handed down by Senior United States District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon, includes 60 months’ imprisonment, with no parole in the federal system. Following his release from prison, Henderson will begin a three-year term of supervised release.

The case was investigated by the Nebraska State Patrol, who worked tirelessly to bring Henderson to justice. Their efforts have sent a clear message that Nebraska will not tolerate narcotics trafficking within its borders.

The sentence handed down to Lawrence Henderson serves as a stark reminder of the severe consequences for those involved in narcotics trafficking. As the state continues to crack down on these crimes, it’s essential that the public remains vigilant and reports any suspicious activity to the authorities.

In this case, the Nebraska State Patrol’s swift action and the federal court’s decisive sentence have brought a measure of justice to the community. The public can rest assured that the state’s law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to keep its citizens safe from the scourge of narcotics trafficking.
