Lee Hueckstaedt, 31, of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, has been charged with conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
A federal grand jury returned a five-count Superseding Indictment against Hueckstaedt on May 23, 2017. The indictment also added a charge of Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of a Drug Trafficking Crime in violation of 18 United States Code 924(c). A conviction of 18 United States Code 924(c) carries a five-year mandatory minimum sentence.
The maximum penalty for all of the charges except for the violation of 18 United States Code 924(c) is 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine. The maximum penalty for a violation of 18 United States Code 924(c) is life in prison and a $250,000 fine.
According to the investigation, certain members of the conspiracy would drive to Milwaukee and pick up hundreds of Oxycodone 30 mg pills per week from Orvin Kay. They would then distribute those Oxycodone pills to individual users, as well as co-conspirators who would sell the pills to other individuals.
The following agencies are participating in the investigation: the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office; the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office; the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation; the Drug Enforcement Administration – Milwaukee (Tactical Diversion Squad); the Minocqua Police Department and the Rhinelander Police Department; and the Northcentral Drug Enforcement Group (“NORDEG”).
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zachary J. Corey. An indictment and a criminal complaint is only a charge and not evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent and are entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
