Lekeria Antionette Toles, a 26-year-old woman from Mount Olive, Alabama, is facing serious charges in a federal indictment related to the distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl in Jefferson County, Alabama.
According to court documents, a three-count indictment filed in U.S. District Court charges Toles with distribution of methamphetamine and fentanyl. The incidents allegedly occurred between October 2024 and January 2025 in Jefferson County, Alabama.
The charges against Toles are part of a nationwide initiative called Operation Take Back America, which aims to eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations and protect communities from violent crime.
The FBI investigated the case in collaboration with the Bessemer Police Special Operations Unit. Assistant United States Attorney Alan S. Kirk is prosecuting the case.
An indictment, as Toles’ case exemplifies, contains only charges and does not imply guilt. Defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
Operation Take Back America is a comprehensive effort to combat the growing threat of cartels and transnational criminal organizations. The initiative leverages the resources of law enforcement agencies across the country to disrupt and dismantle these organizations.
The success of Operation Take Back America relies on the collaboration and coordination of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies working together to achieve a common goal: to keep communities safe from violent crime and the scourge of illegal drugs.
