A chilling tale of violence behind bars has unfolded in Scranton, Pennsylvania, as 25-year-old Lesundre Zacharie has been indicted on a charge of possession of weapons.
According to a federal grand jury, on January 30, 2026, Zacharie allegedly possessed two inmate manufactured weapons, a six-inch piece of plexiglass sharpened to a point with a cloth handle, and a four-inch razor blade attached to a plastic pen, commonly referred to as ‘shanks.’
The FBI and the Federal Bureau of Prisons Special Investigative Service investigated the case, uncovering the disturbing allegations against Zacharie.
Assistant United States Attorney Tatum R. Wilson is prosecuting the case, working to bring Zacharie to justice for his alleged crimes.
The maximum penalty under federal law for this offense is five years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
Lesundre Zacharie, 25, has been charged with possession of weapons, a serious offense that carries significant consequences.
Indictments are only allegations, and all persons charged are presumed to be innocent unless and until found guilty in court.
