A 25-year-old Columbus man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for distributing and possessing a bulk amount of methamphetamine.

Columbus resident Levi Phillips was sentenced in U.S. District Court to 121 months in prison for distributing more than 750 grams of methamphetamine. According to court documents, Phillips sold methamphetamine to undercover DEA agents on at least two occasions in May and July 2021.

While executing a search warrant in August 2021, law enforcement agents discovered more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and approximately 112 grams of fentanyl in Phillips’s bathroom packaged for distribution. Agents also found various firearms and ammunition during the search.

Alongside the methamphetamine, agents discovered a semi-automatic pistol, an AM-15 rifle, and additional magazines and ammunition. A semi-automatic pistol with a magazine and 14 rounds of ammunition was found in a backpack.

The investigation was conducted as part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) initiative, aiming to disrupt and dismantle criminal organizations threatening the United States.

Assistant United States Attorney Nicole Pakiz represented the United States in this case, with Kenneth L. Parker, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Ohio, and Orville O. Greene, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), announcing the sentence imposed by Senior U.S. District Court Judge James L. Graham.
