Vallejo Man Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison for Crack Cocaine Possession
A harsh sentence was handed down to a Vallejo man who was found guilty of possessing crack cocaine for distribution. Lewis Clarence McCutcheon, 51, of Vallejo, was sentenced on Thursday, October 20, to nine years in prison for possessing crack cocaine for distribution, announced U.S. Attorney Phillip A. Talbert.
According to court documents, on June 15, 2017, officers executed a search warrant at McCutcheon’s home in Vallejo and seized over 1.83 kilograms of powder cocaine and 1.56 kilograms of crack cocaine packaged for sale, as well as two digital scales and packaging materials.
The evidence collected during the search revealed the extent of McCutcheon’s operation, with a significant amount of drugs and materials used for distribution. This case is a prime example of the dangers of drug trafficking and the severe consequences that come with it.
The investigation that led to McCutcheon’s sentencing was a joint effort between the Berkeley Police Department’s Special Investigations Bureau, the FBI’s Solano County Violent Crimes Task Force, and the Solano County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney David W. Spencer prosecuted the case.
