Davon Dunn, Sex Trafficking by Fraud, Force, and Coercion, California 2021

SAN DIEGO, CA – A local man, Davon Dunn, alias ‘Lil Kant,’ has pleaded guilty in federal court for his involvement in sex trafficking women across multiple states. The crimes spanned from November 2019 to January 2021, with the defendant admitted to using force, fraud, and coercion to traffic victims.

Dunn was indicted by a federal grand jury in November 2022, charging him with sex trafficking by fraud, force, and coercion, as well as transporting women in interstate commerce for commercial sex acts. After his arrest in December 2022, Dunn was ordered detained without bail.

According to the plea agreement, Dunn admitted to recruiting, enticing, harboring, transporting, providing, obtaining, and maintaining an adult female (‘AF1’), knowing full well that force, threats, fraud, coercion would be used to make her engage in commercial sex. These acts took place in California’s Southern District and other locations.

Between April 2020 and January 2021, Dunn admitted to using a mix of force, fraud, and coercion to make ‘AF1’ participate in commercial sex acts. He harbored her at an apartment in Riverside County, providing transportation for meetings with clients in San Diego County. Dunn also shared the proceeds from her activities and posted advertisements featuring ‘AF1’ online.

The plea agreement further revealed that on October 1, 2020, Dunn struck ‘AF1’ to resume sex work after she expressed a desire to stop. This incident led to injuries and fainting episodes for the victim. Dunn also admitted to trafficking two other women (‘AF2’ and ‘AF3’) across states for commercial sex acts.

U.S. Attorney Randy Grossman emphasized the long-lasting impact of such crimes on victims, vowing justice to ease their suffering. The sentencing hearing for Dunn is set for April 21, 2023, at 9 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Robert S. Huie. Dunn has been in custody since his arrest.
