BEAUMONT, Texas – The façade of small-town baseball crumbled this week as Adam Dale Isaacks, 40, of Lumberton, received a 480-month federal prison sentence for preying on the children under his charge. U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs announced the sentencing, marking the culmination of a harrowing investigation into years of abuse.
Isaacks, formerly the president of the Evadale Little League Baseball organization and a youth baseball coach, pleaded guilty to four counts of transporting a minor for purposes of sexual activity. The case originated on December 13, 2021, when the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of sexual assaults at an Evadale home. What began as a local investigation quickly revealed a pattern of horrific abuse perpetrated by a man trusted by the community.
The investigation uncovered that Isaacks sexually assaulted eight minor members of his baseball team – boys aged between 9 and 11 at the time of the offenses. But the depravity didn’t stop at local assaults. Evidence showed Isaacks transported several of his young victims outside of Texas, engaging in illicit sexual conduct while traveling. Authorities verified these trips through airline records, credit card statements, disturbing photographic evidence, and corroborating witness testimony.
“We expect our little league coaches to protect the children entrusted to their care; this defendant did not do that and will now serve a lengthy sentence,” stated U.S. Attorney Diggs. “Coaches like the defendant, Mr. Isaacks, who have sex with minors should take note of today’s sentence, which reflects the consequences of abusing one’s position of trust by taking advantage of the vulnerabilities of minors and repeatedly engaging them in unlawful sexual activities.”
The successful prosecution of Isaacks is a direct result of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The collaborative effort, led by U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), brings together federal, state, and local resources to target and dismantle networks of predators. The investigation was a coordinated effort by the FBI, Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, and San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Grove prosecuted the case, ensuring that Isaacks faced the full weight of the law for his unspeakable crimes. This case serves as a grim reminder of the predators who hide in plain sight, and the vital importance of vigilance in protecting vulnerable children.
