BEAUMONT, Texas – A Lumberton man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for child sex abuse charges. Adam Dale Isaacks, 40, was a youth baseball coach and president of the Evadale Little League Baseball organization when he committed the heinous crimes.
Isaacks pleaded guilty to four counts of transporting a minor for purposes of sexual activity. U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone handed down the 480-month sentence on June 3, 2024.
The investigation began on December 13, 2021, when the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received a report of several sexual assaults at an Evadale home. As the investigation progressed, Isaacks was identified as the assailant. He was accused of sexually assaulting eight minor members of his baseball team, who were between 9 and 11 years old at the time of the offenses.
The evidence revealed that Isaacks took several of the minor victims on trips outside the state of Texas, where he engaged in illicit sexual conduct with them. The trips were verified through records from airlines, credit card information, photos, and witnesses.
“We expect our little league coaches to protect the children entrusted to their care; this defendant did not do that and will now serve a lengthy sentence,” said U.S. Attorney Damien M. Diggs. “Coaches like the defendant, Mr. Isaacks, who have sex with minors should take note of today’s sentence, which reflects the consequences of abusing one’s position of trust by taking advantage of the vulnerabilities of minors and repeatedly engaging them in unlawful sexual activities.”
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The case was investigated by the FBI, the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, and the San Augustine County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel Grove prosecuted the case.
Isaacks’ crimes are a stark reminder of the dangers of child predators who prey on vulnerable children. His 40-year sentence serves as a warning to anyone who would abuse their position of trust to exploit children.
The Department of Justice has made it clear that it will aggressively prosecute cases of child exploitation. As part of this effort, Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims.
