Fabian McCloskey, a 39-year-old St. Francis, South Dakota, man, has been sentenced for Domestic Assault by a Habitual Offender. McCloskey was found guilty of the crime on May 12, 2014, after a federal grand jury indicted him on December 10, 2013.
According to the investigation, McCloskey’s conviction stems from an incident on November 29, 2013, where he physically assaulted a family member’s partner at their home during the Thanksgiving holiday. McCloskey pleaded guilty on February 11, 2014, and was sentenced to 37 months in custody, as well as 2 years of supervised release. He was also required to pay $100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. The case was investigated by the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Marie H. Ruettgers prosecuting the case.
