Lonzo Patrick, Armed Robberies, Missouri 2019

A St. Louis, Missouri resident, Lonzo Patrick, has been sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison for his involvement in a string of armed robberies. The 56-year-old pleaded guilty in September 2019 to three counts of robbery and two counts of brandishing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

The crimes occurred in October 2017, with the most recent incident taking place on October 30, 2017. Patrick entered the Walgreens store located in the 2900 block of S. Kingshighway and approached the counter to purchase some candy. During the transaction, Patrick pulled a firearm and pointed it at the store clerk. The clerk ran from behind the counter, and Patrick took money from the cash register.

On October 25, 2017, Patrick entered the Phillips 66 located in the 4200 block of Lindell Boulevard. He approached the store clerk in order to purchase an item. When the cash register drawer opened, Patrick reached over the counter to remove money from the drawer. When the clerk attempted to close the register drawer, Patrick pulled a firearm and pointed it at the clerk. Patrick then took money from the register drawer.

Earlier that month, on October 21, 2017, Patrick entered the O’Reilly Auto Parts located in the 1100 block of N. Kingshighway. After inquiring about purchasing items, Patrick pointed a firearm at the store clerk and instructed the clerk to open the cash register. Patrick took money from the register drawer.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney John Bird is handling the case.

Lonzo Patrick, 56, was sentenced to 228 months in prison, which is just shy of 19 years. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Ronnie L. White. Patrick pleaded guilty to the crimes in September 2019.

The case is a stark reminder of the dangers of armed robbery and the consequences that can result from such actions. The St. Louis community can rest a little easier knowing that Patrick will be behind bars for nearly two decades.
