Lorenzo Dale Flores, Second Degree Murder, Arizona 2015
PHOENIX – A grim tale of violence and retribution unfolded in Arizona as Lorenzo Dale Flores, a 20-year-old member of the Gila River Indian Community, was sentenced to 14 years behind bars for second degree murder.
The tragic event occurred on May 26, 2014, when Flores shot the victim multiple times outside a home in Bapchule, Arizona. The victim met a senseless and brutal end at the hands of Flores, who showed no mercy on that fateful day.
On February 9, 2015, U.S. District Judge John J. Tuchi delivered the verdict, handing down a 168-month prison sentence to Flores. The defendant had pleaded guilty to the crime on October 14, 2014, after being taken into custody.
The investigation into this heinous crime was conducted by the Gila River Police Department, with the prosecution being handled by Raynette Logan, Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona, Phoenix.
Flores’ sentence is a testament to the determination of law enforcement to bring justice to the victims and their families. The community can now breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the perpetrator has been held accountable for his actions.
