Lorenzo Lindsey, Felon in Possession of Firearm, Nevada 2020

A Las Vegas man is behind bars after being sentenced to 78 months in prison for a firearms offense.

Lorenzo Lindsey, 28, pleaded guilty in September 2020 to being a felon in possession of a firearm. According to court documents, Lindsey was in a gun store on November 16, 2018, when he possessed three 9mm firearms and 100 rounds of ammunition.

Furthermore, Lindsey also possessed a 9mm firearm and ammunition at his residence from June 2018 to January 2019. He had previously fired the 9mm at an indoor shooting range, and had at least three felony convictions, making him prohibited by law from possessing a firearm and ammunition.

United States Attorney Jason M. Frierson for the District of Nevada and Acting Special Agent in Charge Joshua Jackson for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) made the announcement.

This case was investigated by the ATF. Assistant United States Attorney Edward Veronda prosecuted the case.

If you have information about illegal firearms activity, submit a tip to ATF by calling the hotline at 1-800-ATF-GUNS (1-800-283-4867) or through the ReportIt mobile app.

Prosecutors say Lindsey’s actions were a clear disregard for the law, and that his sentence reflects the seriousness of the offense.

The case serves as a reminder that those with felony convictions are prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, and that law enforcement will take action against those who fail to comply.
