Louisville Looters Face Federal Charges

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In a fierce crackdown on looters during the 2020 civil unrest, three defendants have been indicted by a federal Grand Jury for their alleged roles in the theft of controlled substances and firearms from local businesses.

The trio are accused of engaging in looting activities in Jefferson County between June 1 and June 3, 2020. Their charges include conspiracy to commit burglary involving controlled substances and illegal possession of firearms by convicted felons, bringing the total number of federally charged defendants to 11.

United States Attorney Russell Coleman stood firm against the criminals, stating, “In Louisville we honor and protect lawful protest, but loot our businesses and expect to go to federal prison.”

Jordan K. Johnson and Frederick F. Reed are accused of conspiring to enter the Kroger pharmacy at 2710 West Broadway with intent to steal controlled substances. They also face charges for conspiracy to distribute alprazolam (Xanax) and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, carrying penalties up to 10 years in prison.

De’Aisjia S. Shrivers is charged with stealing three firearms from a licensed dealer and possessing a stolen Glock pistol, facing up to 10 years in prison for both counts.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), United States Secret Service, and Louisville Metro Police Department are all involved in this investigation. As always, the indictment of a person by a Grand Jury is an accusation only, and that person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
