LSD Dealer Brought Down in West Virginia: 46 Months in Prison
A Missouri man has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for his role in a LSD trafficking operation in West Virginia.
Casey Tyler Nagy, 29, pleaded guilty in March 2016 to one count of "Distribution of LSD" after distributing the drug in June 2015 in Wetzel County. The operation was led by Nagy, who brought in the illicit substance from outside the state.
Nagy’s crime was uncovered after a thorough investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the New Martinsville Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney David Perri led the prosecution on behalf of the government.
"This sentence sends a clear message that those who traffic in illegal substances will be held accountable," said U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, in a statement. "We will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle these types of operations."
Sr. U.S. District Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr. presided over Nagy’s sentencing, handing down the 46-month prison term. Nagy’s guilty plea in March 2016 marked a significant victory in the ongoing fight against LSD trafficking in the region.
The case serves as a reminder that the consequences of engaging in drug trafficking can be severe, with lengthy prison sentences and a lasting impact on one’s life and community.
