Bartlesville Resident Charged with Brutal Double Murder

A heinous crime shook the quiet town of Dewey, Oklahoma, when Lucas Anthony Walker, 20, allegedly entered the home of an unsuspecting couple and took their lives. Deborah and Larry Dutton, who lived in the residence, were found brutally murdered on December 19, 2022.

According to the Complaint filed in United States District Court in Tulsa, Walker and a minor were occupying the residence when law enforcement arrived on January 20, 2023, to conduct a welfare check based on the suspicious disappearance of the couple. The arrival of authorities sparked a search of the residence, which allegedly revealed evidence indicating a crime had likely taken place.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI collaborated on the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Eric O. Johnston and Shakema M. Onias set to prosecute the case.

Lucas Anthony Walker has been charged with first degree murder in Indian Country and discharge of a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, according to the Complaint. The case will proceed in United States District Court in Tulsa, where the Complaint is currently pending.

The suspect and his alleged accomplice, a minor, were occupying the residence when law enforcement arrived. The minors’ involvement in the crime is currently under investigation.
