Lucus Wayne Cullum, Involuntary Manslaughter, Oklahoma 2022

Lucus Wayne Cullum, a 25-year-old Seminole resident, has pleaded guilty to a serious crime that shook the community. The Seminole man, who entered a guilty plea to one count of Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country, faces the consequences of his actions.

Cullum’s guilty plea stems from a fatal incident on November 23, 2022, in Seminole County, within the boundaries of the Seminole Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma. According to the indictment, Cullum killed the victim while failing to devote his full time and attention to driving.

The crime was investigated by the Seminole Nation Lighthorse Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Their tireless efforts led to Cullum’s indictment and subsequent guilty plea.

The Honorable Jason A. Robertson, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted Cullum’s plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. Cullum was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending sentencing.
